The Center for Biological Sequence Analysis at the Technical University of Denmark was formed in 1993, and conducts basic research in the fields of bioinformatics and systems biology. The center is divided into ten specialist research groups, has a highly multi-disciplinary profile (biologists, biochemists, MDs, physicists, statisticians, and computer scientists) with a ratio of 2:1 of bio-to-nonbio backgrounds. CBS represents one of the large bioinformatics groups in academia in Europe.

[Europe] Erasmus Mundus MSc Scholarship 2010 in Sustainable Forest and Nature Management

We propose an integrated two-year world-class Masters Course in Sustainable Forest and Nature Management (SUFONAMA). The overall objective is to provide a top-level programme that qualifies graduates to deal with the huge challenges in Europe’s pursuit of an evermore sustainable management of her natural resources, namely, that the management of forests and nature areas must be seen in an integrated landscape context. To obtain the SUFONAMA double degree and the Diploma Supplement, students have to acquire 120 ECTS credits by studying at two Consortium institutions, acquiring at least 60 ECTS credits at each. All SUFONAMA modular activities are completed in English. Due to the one-year Course components, SUFONAMA encourages its student body to engange in local language studies available at all the partner institutions. The total students population is expected to be 150.

[Europe] Master Scholarship 2010 in Agricutural Development and Management of Natural Resources, AGRIS MUNDUS

The Agris Mundus Masters course is a two-year training programme of 120 ECTS (European Credits Transfer System) in agricutural development and management of natural resources.

The Agris Mundus Masters course objectives are to train students to cope with the current global/international concerns in agriculture and rural development. Graduates will be qualified to identify and critically analyse key factors shaping the development of crops, forests and animall production, the management of research and rural development projects and finally, the sustainable use of natural resources and the environment. They will be trained to formulate and provide effective and appropriate responses to complex agriculture and natural resources related issues.
