New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS) 2010

New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS) are open to all international students who meet the eligibility criteria. NZIDRS scholarships include:

  • full tuition fees for three years of full-time doctoral study
  • NZ$20,500 per annum living allowance (NZ$1708.33 per month).
  • up to NZ$600 annual health insurance allowance
  • NZ$2000 (across 3 year tenure) travel allowance. This is intended to be used for conference attendance and field research
  • NZ$800 (across 3 year tenure) book and thesis allowance
  • NZ$500 one-off establishment allowance. Only to be paid to those students who are travelling to NZ specifically to take up the NZIDRS. No student already located in NZ is eligible to receive this amount.

University of Canterbury Master and Doctoral scholarships 2010

The University of Canterbury (UC) offers a number of scholarships for study towards a PhD degree or for the thesis year of a Masters degree. There is strong competition for these scholarships and applicationmust have gained at least a first class honours degree, or the equivalent, for it to be worth applying.

To be considered for a University of Canterbury Master or Doctoral scholarship, in addition to submitting a scholarship application form, a complete application for admission shouldbe made before or at the same time as the scholarship application is made. If admission has not been approved by prescribed dates, the scholarship application will not be considered.

New Zealand Development Scholarship 2010 for Developing Countries

The New Zealand Development Scholarships (NZDS) scheme offers the opportunity to people from selected developing countries to undertake development-related studies in New Zealand.
This may include study related to education, health, rural livelihoods, governance, human rights, or economic development, depending on the human resource development training needs of the home government.

New Zealand -Development Scholarships are offered for full-time, tertiary level study at participating New Zealand education institutions.

As part of Google’s ongoing commitment to furthering Anita’s vision, we are pleased to announce the 2009 Google Australia and New Zealand Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship. Through the scholarship, we aim to encourage women to excel in computing and technology, and become active role models and leaders.

Scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of candidates’ academic background and demonstrated leadership. A group of female undergraduate and graduate student finalists will be chosen from the applicant pool. Each scholar recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship towards the 2010 academic year. In addition all finalists and scholarship recipients will be invited to an expenses-paid networking retreat to be held at Google’s Sydney Engineering centre in September.

VIED Scholarships 2009 for Vietnamese to Study Undergraduate, Masters, Doctoral, and Courses Overseas

2009: many scholarships for training PhD, Masters, for short term training and for training undergraduate overseas will be provided by MOET of Vietnam.
In 2009, the Vietnam International Education Development (VIED – replaced the Management Committee of Project 322) will on behalf of Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) select and award many scholarships for studies overseas. These scholarships comprise of:

  • 500 scholarships for full time doctoral study overseas,
  • 200 scholarships for full time masters study overseas,
  • 30 scholarships for short term training courses overseas,
  • 100 scholarships for doctoral and master study at joint programs,
  • About 150 scholarships for undergraduate study overseas.
