Monash University Fully Funded PhD Studentship in Synthetic Organic Chemistry

We seek an outstanding PhD candidate with a background in synthetic organic chemistry to develop a new class of dendritic molecules, and to study their applications. The position is fully funded, both fees and stipend, for four years.

The successful candidate will investigate a new method for the synthesis of a library of dendrimers with variations in the sizes and shapes of the monomers, and of the strength and character of the forces between them. University of Melbourne PhD Studentships in Finance 2011

About the Program:

The PhD program consists of rigorous coursework in the first year, followed by a 2-3 year research period. Hedley Bull Scholarship: MA in International Relations, Australia National University

The Graduate Studies in International Affairs program offers up to four Hedley Bull Scholarships each year for full-time study in the Master of Arts (International Relations) commencing in semester one. Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the Master of Arts (International Relations).

When applying for the MA (International Relations), eligible applicants for the Hedley Bull Scholarship should include a covering letter indicating their interest in being considered for the scholarship and making the case for being granted one. The covering letter together with the application for the MA (International Relations) (including transcripts and three academic references) will be considered as the full application for the scholarship. There is no need to provide a separate application. The scholarship provides a full-fee waiver for three full-time sessions (semesters). This amounts to 48 units of graduate coursework and a 24-unit thesis session.

Macquarie University International Scholarship (MUIS) 2011 for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies

Macquarie University International Scholarships are available across most courses to cover international tuition fees for study on campus at North Ryde in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree. Postgraduate courses not available under MUIS are Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Management, Master of Applied Finance (MAF), Master of Advanced Surgery and Master of Surgery.

Scholarships will be granted to cover the credit points required to complete a single undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

PhD Scholarship in Bioinformatics at the Queensland Brain Institute, Australia

The Mowry group has currently two PhD projects available. Two PhD scholarships are available in the area of psychiatric genetics and second-generation- sequencing:

Project 1: Investigating the role of micro-RNAs in Schizophrenia using Second Generation DNA Sequencing The successful applicant will seek to identify rare and novel microRNAs in brain tissue. This involves comparing miRNA expression in multiple brain tissues of SZ-affected versus unaffected controls by using second generation DNA sequencing to identify the target mRNA transcripts of novel miRNA’s that are differentially expressed between SZ-affected and –unaffected samples. The following functional analysis aims at investigating the role of miRNA’s in the etiology of SZ.

Griffith University Full PhD Scholarship in Forestry and Environmental Science

A full PhD scholarship valued at $27,000 per annum is available to work on a major externally funded project within the Environmental Futures Centre at Griffith University.

Project: Wyaralong dam carbon offset and greenhouse gas investigation program
Funded by: Queensland Water Infrastructure

The successful PhD candidate will work on carbon dynamics in soils and sediments of Wyaralong dam areas under the joint supervision of Dr Chengrong Chen, Professor Zhihong Xu and Dr Tim Blumfield (all members of the Environmental Futures Centre).

Edith Cowan University International PhD-MSc by Research Scholarship (ECU-IPRS)

International Postgraduate Research scholarships at Edith Cowan University are restricted only to those applicants wishing to commencing their studies in either a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master by Research.

The ECU-IPRS scheme is both prestigious and highly competitive. Four ECU-IPRS scholarships are offered each year for tenure at Edith Cowan University. The scholarships provide the recipient with tuition fee and health care cover for the duration of their research degree. In addition, each successful ECU-IPRS recipient will be offered an ECU International Stipend (ECUIS) to meet living costs for the same period.

The University of Adelaide AOASI Undergraduate Scholarships 2011

The University of Adelaide offers a scholarships scheme for international students undertaking undergraduate study.

The Adelaide Outstanding Achiever Scholarships International (AOASI)

  • Up to ten Adelaide Outstanding Achiever Scholarships International (AOASI) are available to international students who are citizens of Indonesia, Korea, Thailand or Vietnam undertaking study in any academic discipline, except Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).
  • Benefits are the waiver of full tuition fees for the normal duration of the program, subject to satisfactory performance.
  • A scholarship recipient completing a three year degree program who is offered a further year in the Honours Program may apply for an extension of the scholarship to cover that year.
  • Scholarships are available only for the first four years of a double degree.
