The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme has been launched by the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong in 2009. The Fellowship Scheme aims to attract the best and brightest students in the world to pursue their PhD degree programmes in Hong Kong.
The Fellowship will provide an annual stipend of HK$240,000 (approximately US$30,000) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$10,000 (approximately US$1,300) per year for a maximum period of three years.

We are looking for an excellent student to pursue PhD with the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Basically, the student will work under a Hong Kong CERG funded research project titled “On Relating Online Reviews to Quality Function Deployment in Engineering Design”. The project focuses on intelligently analyzing the online product reviews and linking them for optimal decision making in product design through quality function deployment. We are particularly interested in students with strong background in text processing, machine learning, datatext mining and optimization. Knowledge on quality function deployment and engineering design is preferred, but not compulsory.
