With a view to promoting international exchanges in the field of education, culture, communication, science and technology, and to enhancing friendship among peoples of the world, the Government of the People’s Republic of China has placed at the disposal of UNESCO, under the sponsorship of the Organization, twenty five fellowships for advanced studies and two more fellowships on agriculture-related subjects specially at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These fellowships are for the benefit of developing Member States in Africa, Asia and the Pacific and certain countries in the Arab States.
According to the Interim Regulations of Shanghai Government Scholarship for International Students (hereafter referred to as the Scholarship), this detailed implementation for international students in ECUST has hereby been set forth.
The scholarship is divided into Type A and B. Type A, as a full scholarship, covers tuition, basic learning material, accommodation; it provides insurance for major diseases and accidents; living allowance is offered monthly: 1700 RMB for master student and 2000 RMB for PHD student. It is awarded to applicants for masters and above. The numbers to be awarded is 10 each year.
Type B is semi-scholarship, including tuition, basic learning material and accommodation. It will be awarded to applicants for masters and above. The numbers to be awarded is 6 each year.
The Joint Master’s Degree (MSc) Programme on Integrated Dry lands Management brings together different expertise and scientific resources of the partner institutes to build advanced human capital, generate and adapt global knowledge for local solutions in dry lands. The programme provides young professionals and scientists an international perspective on integrated resources management approaches in dry lands and allows them to gain practical experience in different dry land countries. Throughout the programme, a strong emphasis will be placed on multidisciplinary approaches.
Chinese Government Scholarship-Degree Study in Provinces & Autonomous Region Program is established by the Ministry of Education of China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) aiming to strengthen the education exchanges and cooperation between China and its neighboring countries. The administrative departments of education in provinces and autonomous regions undertaking this program will manage and organize some Chinese higher institutions to carry out the enrollment. MOE entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) to keep the enrollment record and carry out the routine management of this scholarship program.
Chinese Government Scholarship-University Postgraduate Study Program is established by the Ministry of Education of China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) aiming to offer support in building international high level universities, and promote Chinese higher education brand. The enrollment is directly managed by a part of Chinese higher institutions. MOE entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) to keep the enrollment record and carry out the routine management.
China/UNESCO – the Great Wall Fellowship scheme is a full scholarship scheme set up by the Ministry of Education of China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) for candidates recommended by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). MOE entrusts China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) to handle the enrollment of international students and carry out the routine management of this scholarship program.
25 scholarships are available for the academic year 2009/2010.
Chinese Government Scholarship scheme is established by the Ministry of Education of China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) in accordance with educational exchange agreements or understandings reached between Chinese government and governments of other countries, organizations, education institutions and relevant international organizations to provide both full scholarships and partial scholarships to international students and scholars.
