Teaching & Research Assistant / Ph.D. position in Public management

The Faculty of Economics of the Università della Svizzera italiana, Switzerland, opens a teaching-assistant position in public management, starting in Summer or Fall 2009. The main responsibility will be:

• To support the teaching of public management at the Bachelor and Master courses.
• Valuation courses.
• To assist empirical research projects in the field of public management.
• To support the Program Manager of the Executive Master in Public Administration.

The candidate must begin a Ph.D. at the Faculty of Economics in Lugano in the field of public management and governance.

The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications:

• Master in Management, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Participating in Ph.D. programme.
• Strong interest in public management and governance.
• Familiarity with MS Office automation package (Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Excellent command of Italian, English and French or German.

Closing date for applications is October 16, 2009, but applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The position starts as soon as possible.

The teaching-assistant should reside in Ticino (Italian-speaking part of Switzerland).
