Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Mechatronics. Ref. 70/09
The University of Agder invites applications for a full-time fixed-term appointment as Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Mechatronics at the Faculty of Engineering and Science for a period of two years from the starting date. The position is currently located in Grimstad, Norway. The starting date is negotiable.
The Faculty of Technology and Science has over 1000 students in master’s programmes (Industrial and Information Management, Information and Communication Technology and Mechatronics) and bachelor’s programs (Multimedia, Civil, Computer, Electro, Mechanical and Energy Engineering), and over 160 academic staff. There are currently 20 PhD students in Information and Communication Technology and 6 in Mechatronics.
Research and teaching in mechatronics at UiA have over many years been adapted to the needs of the regional industrial enterprises, focusing on mechatronic systems to control large movements and forces, and where large amounts of energy are converted. The academic content is centred on the following five areas:

The successful applicant may be assigned some administrative tasks and teaching at the B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. level in the area of Mechatronics.
The main objective of appointment as Postdoctoral Research Fellow is to qualify for work in senior academic posts. Appointees are required to hold doctoral degrees.

Applicants are required to demonstrate their personal suitability for the position. Emphasis will be placed on good teamwork skills.
The working languages are Norwegian and English. A high level of oral and written proficiency in both English and Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is required.
Short-listed applicants for the position will be invited for interviews and a formal presentation of their current and previous research results. With the applicant’s permission, the University will also conduct a reference check before appointment.
Appointment is made by the University of Agder’s Appointments Committee for Teaching and Research Positions.

The position is renumerated in the State salary plan 17.510, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, code 1352, salary grade 57-64 (NOK 435.700 – 496.300). A 2 % compulsory pension contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund is deducted from the pay according to current statutory provisions.
