[UK] Commonwealth Scholarships 2009 for Master in Public Policy and Management at University of York

Masters in Public Policy and Management
The University of York has been awarded ten Commonwealth Scholarships by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom (CSCUK) for students joining either the online Masters in Public Policy and Management or the online Masters of Public Administration, commencing their studies in September 2009.
The Commonwealth Scholarships are administered by CSCUK, working as the UK arm of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP). The awards themselves are funded by the Department for International Development (DFID).
The CSFP are working towards partnerships between developed and developing countries aimed at combining academic excellence with the desire to make a real difference in some of the world’s poorest countries.
Scholarships are available to applicants who:
- have not previously had the opportunity to study at post-graduate level,
- are living and working in developing countries of the Commonwealth, and
- are working in or with public organisations, including NGO’s, aid agencies and local/national government departments, working towards the Millennium Development Goals.
The programmes
The online Masters programmes covered by these scholarships are flexible, highly interactive, well supported programmes that are directly relevant to the aims of the Millennium Development Goals. Students must meet the programme entry requirements, and complete a Commonwealth Scholarship application form:

Application deadline
Commonwealth scholarship applications are invited before 31st May 2009.
CSCUK will decide which students to offer scholarships to and successful students will be notified during late July 2009.
